Oak Hill Community Arts Co-operative is a not-for-profit organisation run by volunteers under the direction of a Board of Directors, and operates Oak Hill Community Gallery as a community access 'space-for-hire' showcase of affordable art.
They offer the public and art lovers alike the opportunity to appreciate a wide variety of styles from the traditional to contemporary, the conventional to the absurd. Oak Hill Community Gallery exhibits works by professional and emerging artists with exhibitions held on a monthly basis. Their aim is to encourage and host new moves of art while continuing to embrace and respect the ancestry of art.
Built in 1892, Oak Hill Community Gallery is a beautiful Italianate-style Victorian villa. It is a significant building within the Mornington Peninsula region and is a local identity. The five exhibition spaces within the building are a series of warm contemporary rooms with high ceilings and polished floors.
The major aim of Oak Hill Community Gallery is to cultivate an environment that will inspire and enthuse artists from all walks of life, that will encourage public participation, and will encourage other galleries to offer the next career step to the talented artists showcased here.
They also provide a variety of Creative Art Workshops and Classes, such as Pottery, Painting, Printmaking, Life Drawing, Jewellery making, Mosaics, Book Binding, Team Building Workshops and Birthday Parties.
